The Dole Plantation is one of Oahu's most popular attraction welcoming more than one million visitors a year. The Dole Plantation provides many activities for the entire family, including the Pineapple Express, the Plantation Garden Tour, and the Pineapple Garden Maze. The plantation also has a huge store offering a wide variety of gifts, souvenirs, local foods, and refreshments. If you do go to the Dole Plantation I recommend trying the world-famous Dole Whip and taking home a fresh pineapple. My favorite activity would have to be Pineapple Maze, which in 2008 happened to be the largest maze. As a kid I had a lot of fun whipping through this maze trying to find my way out. It usually took me an hour and thirty minutes max to find my way out only because I would end up going in circles without knowing it. Sometimes I would get so frustrated that I would look for tiny gaps in the bushes and squeeze myself through. In the maze there are eight secret stations that lead you closer to unlocking the mystery but only the fastest finishers win a prize. I don't remember ever winning so I'm not really sure what the prize is.
The admission to Dole Plantation is free and there are plenty of free activities to take part in as well, such as fish-feeding and pineapple cutting demonstrations. The admission for the Pineapple Maze is $6 for adults, $4 for children between the ages of 4 and 12, And $4.50 for military and Oahu residents. To take part in the 2-mile train ride around the pineapple fields in the Pineapple Express it costs $8 for adults, $6 for children between the ages of 4 and 12, and $7.25 for military and Oahu residents. For the Plantation Garden Tour it costs $5 for adults, $4.25 for children between the ages of 4 and 12, and $4.50 for military and Oahu residents. There is no need to worry because tickets can be purchased at the Dole Plantation
